Frequently Asked Questions
What is the culture of Ebenezer?
Ebenezer is a warm, welcoming, caring, friendly church. We strive to welcome all whether you are a first-time visitor or a long-time member. We believe in welcoming you with open hearts, open minds, and open doors.
How should I dress?
We have members who come dressed up. We also have members who come dressed down in casual attire. You can come as you are and not feel out of place.
What do you have for children?
We offer children's Sunday School at 9:30 am - 10:30 am. We also offer children's church for ages 4 and up at 11:45 am. The children go up for prayer during the ritual of friendship (time of greeting others) and leave with the teacher for children's church. If you have little ones under the age of 4, we offer Ebenezer's Quiet Place where children can rest, snack, and/or play while parents are able to hear the service on the overhead speakers.
What kind of music do you have?
We offer music in a variety of genres to accommodate different age ranges and musical tastes. We have a Chancel Choir (1st and 3rd Sunday), Men's Ensemble (2nd Sunday), Youth/Young Adult Choir (2nd and 5th Sundays), Children's Choir (3rd Sunday), Contemporary Gospel Choir (4th Sunday), and Handbell Choir (4th Sunday.)
You can come as you are and be nurtured. At Sunday worship service, you will hear an inspiring Bible-based message. We celebrate the Lord's Supper (Communion) on the first Sunday of the month. You can worship God through a variety of instruments of praise, be spiritually enriched, and get help for your needs. At children's Sunday School class, you may leave your children in a safe environment, where they can interact with other children and learn Bible lessons through songs, stories, fun and games, beginning from Pre-K through first grade. We are committed to actively reaching out to others in love, hospitality, and mission with sensitivity to the spiritual needs, concerns, hopes, and dreams of those who live in our communities. Join us at carnival time (2nd Saturday in July.) Come with us on selected trips with the Travel Ministry. You can bring your children to Camp Odyssey in the summer. Listen to dynamic guest speakers and partake in a feast on our lawn when we celebrate International Sunday in October. In Christ, we find our spiritual home and abide in his love. We invite you to Ebenezer UMC to praise the Lord; explore and nurture your faith in study, prayer, worship, and reflection. Come join us and build lasting relationships!
Thank you for taking the time to visit us! We offer a warm welcome to you and your entire family and opportunities to study God's word, discover and develop your spiritual gifts, learn how to share your faith, and worship God in spirit and in truth.
Faith is more than what happens on Sunday mornings. It's a part of who we are, inside and out. At Ebenezer, we believe in sharing the joy of the scriptures daily, and living a life that embodies the spirit of Christ. We believe in creating a faith community that's rooted in the gospels as it is in one another. Join us any Sunday and you'll find friendly faces, encouraging words, and activities for the whole family. We welcome you with open hearts, open minds, and open doors.
